The New Moon in Sagittarius on 12/7 at 12:20am MST brings our goals and aspirations to the surface and aims us towards spiritual expansion. This New Moon is heavily influenced by Jupiter as it aligns with the Sun and Moon in Sagittarius. This is what is urging us to expand our perspective on what could be. The energy might feel as if you have a deep desire to explore new goals and intentions for the upcoming year. This is the last New Moon of 2018 and with it comes the need to honor how far you have come and open up to what lies ahead.
This New Moon is guided by Mars and Neptune both aligned in the sign of Pisces. The energy of Mars and Neptune become one and fiery energy (Mars) is given to the deep waters of our soul (Neptune). Your intuition is heightened as well as your desire to explore the spiritual world. The word spiritual means something different to everybody, but it is an energy that goes beyond our physical/material world. It is our connection to something greater than ourselves. It is releasing our need to control our life and trusting that we are all cared for and supported, no matter what we experience.
It is easy to lose sight of this during the stress of the holidays or during our everyday life in general, especially in times of struggle. But that is the most important time to remember that you are loved and supported. The veil is thinning during this New Moon and your intuition is asking you to WAKE UP TO YOUR POTENTIAL!
This very esoteric energy is given a grounding force from Saturn as it forms a harmonious aspect to Mars and Neptune. Saturn is helping guide you on the right path and allowing for you to remain grounded and organized in your pursuits. Saturn has a bad reputation in astrology but that is mainly because he is the teacher and authority figure making sure you don’t take a wrong step, which may go against what your ego wants. When that happens, we meet struggle. BUT if you open up to Saturn’s guidance, it can truly be a wonderful experience.
Overall, this New Moon is going to be a juicy one! One that is calling for you to get in touch with your soul and trust your intuitive guidance. To create intentions for your growth and expansion, both on the physical and spiritual level.
Here is a New Moon Ritual that I like to use!
With love and light,
To be created and practiced on the new moon.
Candle/matches, 6 items from nature (flowers, stones, crystals, etc), a piece of paper/pen, Sage stick/Palo Santo/dried herbs of your choice. Any personal altar items that align with your intention. Access to fireplace or outdoor fire- optional.
FIND A QUIET PLACE
Find a quiet place inside or in nature where you can be comfortable. Begin to calm your body with deep breaths and bring awareness to your intention for your ritual. (Eg. Peace, love, balance, letting go.)
BUILD AN ALTAR
Begin to build your altar, place your candle in the center and place your nature items in the 4 cardinal directions, one below for Mother Earth and above for sun/stars/moon, place anything else of significance your altar.
Smudge yourself with sage or palo santo for purifying your whole self by fanning the smoke over the front and back body and over your altar.
CALL IN THE DIRECTIONS
Call in sacred space and honor the directions:
South- for letting go and being in the flow of your life
West- for facing fear with love
North- for living in joy and in connection to our ancestors
East- for leading and living from our hearts
Mother Earth- or grounding, creation and abundance
Father Sky, Grandmother Moon and the Stars- for our appreciation to the spirit world
Sit in meditation honoring your whole, connected and vibrant self. Repeat out loud 3 times “ I am whole, I am connected, I am love.” Bring awareness to what you are ready to invite into your life. Take time to imagine or see yourself living this invitation.
WRITE AN INVITATION
Write on the a piece paper what you are now inviting into your life. Using I am and I statements are powerful. I often like to use the statement "I Intend to...". Speak you invitations out loud and then blow 3 long slow breaths and place them on your altar.
Sit once again in silence and observe how you feel, any sensation or images that come to you know. Stay soft, open and receptive. With great attention take your rolled up paper and honor the work you have done today to welcome in the new. If you have access to a fire you can burn your paper, if not, feel free to release it in any way that feels right.
CLOSE THE SACRED SPACE
Close up your sacred space by honoring the 4 directions, Mother Earth and the stars, sun and moon. It may feel right to honor your ancestors, spirit guides, family and teachers; consider speaking your thanks aloud. Thank yourself for being the open luminous vessel of light and love that you are. Journal about your ritual if you are inspired or share your experience with a friend or loved one.
With light and love,
This ritual was adapted from Gaia
Full Moon in 0° Gemini at 10:40pm MST on November 22nd
This Full Moon occurs just as the Sun enters the sign of Sagittarius and opposes the Moon in Gemini. During every Full Moon, the Sun is on the exact opposite side of the Earth from the Moon. This is what allows for full unobstructed illumination of the Moon.
When the Moon is fully illuminated, the inner world comes out of the dark and steps into the spotlight. The emotional body gets a chance to speak up and release what has been held in. As some might say, “the crazy comes out during a Full Moon” this is referring to the fully illuminated subconscious that is finally getting a chance to shine.
For those who often distract or disconnect from their emotional body, this might feel very uncomfortable. Some might even say they feel like an emotional explosion is happening. The reason isn’t “crazy coming out” but just all those emotions you kept hidden coming to the surface to be felt and expressed.
For those who to tap into their emotional body more regularly, this may feel a little less intense and more releasing. This is the chance to check in and see what is not worth holding on to emotionally and letting it go. What is no longer serving you or holding you back?
Full Moon in Gemini opposing the Sun in Sagittarius is all about the polarity of mind and truth. Gemini is an air sign ruled by the planet Mercury (logic, communication, technology) which happens to be retrograde at the moment. Sagittarius is a fire sign ruled by the planet Jupiter (prosperity, expansion, truth).
This opposition will highlight how our mind/heart connection (Gemini Moon) interacts with our search for truth (Sagittarius Sun). Be honest with yourself and get curious about your emotions and what they are trying to teach you. Open the door to explore what your inner self is telling you so that you may release the pain, hurt, sadness, past, and expand into consciousness, prosperity, abundance, etc.
This Gemini Moon (along with the help of Mercury retrograde in Sag), is all about intuitive communication. Bring awareness to how you receive as well as how you communicate. Sagittarius is all about TRUTH, and sometimes that truth can hurt. Be gentle with yourself and others during this time. Going inward and exploring your emotional body can create a sensitive environment. Always receive and communicate from your heart with good intentions.
Love & Gratitude to you all,
To all of you in America, HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
Mars enters Pisces on November 15th to stay until December 31st. Mars is the planet of action, desire, and courage. As the ruler of Aries, Mars is all about the intentional immediate use of will in a courageous way. Pisces, is a mutable sign that can easily adapt to situations in order to emotionally connect to a variety of people, places, and situations. Ruled by Neptune, the planet of deep psyche and dreams, Pisces is all about being in flow with something greater than ourselves, that lies within.
Mars moving into the sign of Pisces is calling for a time of reflective action. The emotional and deep waters of Pisces is directing the fiery energy of Mars from an external to an internal desire. This is a call for decisive action in the area we fear the most, our emotional body. The part of ourselves that remains hidden from the world and carries all those deep dark secrets from our past. Mars in Pisces is giving you the courage to face your fears and take action to work through the anxiety, the depression, the hurt, the struggle, the sadness, the ups and downs to finally make a change before starting a new year. Time to make those resolutions happen!
To help us all go inward is Mercury going retrograde the day after Mars enters Pisces. On November 16th, Mercury goes retrograde in the sign of Sagittarius to stay until December 6th when it stations direct in the sign of Scorpio. Now, before we all go running for the hills to hide under a rock, take a breath and view this retrograde as the helpful tool it can be. When any planet goes retrograde it is a time to place emphasis on internal expression versus external expression. For those born with retrograde planets (especially Mercury for this transit), you feel comfortable when transiting planets go retrograde. For the rest of us, it can be a little scary because you are not accustomed to focusing on your internal environment.
This Mercury retrograde in Sagittarius (and a little in Scorpio) will be the helpful nudge that Mars needs to get started on that inner work. Mercury is the planet of communication and our mind. It is the ruler of both Gemini and Virgo and thus carries our intellect and ability to mentally process our immediate environment. Sagittarius is a mutable fire sign that is ruled by Jupiter (which happens to currently be tranisting in the sign of Sag) the planet of expansion and prosperity. Mercury Rx in Sagittarius is all about how can we expand our perspective and change our mind, especially around our internal emotional body. How can we shift our role from student to teacher. Throughout life we are constantly learning and processing (Mercury), but there comes a point when we must develop our own philosophy (Sagittarius) to live by or what I like to call YOUR TRUTH. At the end of this retrograde cycle, we will have Mercury direct in Scorpio, which is all about giving power to your voice, to your truth.
On a different note, people always ask me what I should and shouldn’t do during a Mercury retrograde. AND my answer is, do what feels right within and don’t make hasty decisions without consulting your intuition (and maybe don't buy a car or other large electronic devices).
Overall, the remainder of the year will be about YOU and how YOU take care of your emotional body. Now is the time to do the inner work so come 1/1/2019 you are ready to set new intentions and consciously manifest your highest potential.
With love and light,
Get Ready for a New Beginning
The New Moon in 15° Scorpio on November 7th at 9:02AM MST brings soulful intentions to the surface. This New Moon is heavily influenced by our intuition and connection to the spiritual realm as the Sun and Moon in Scorpio trine Neptune in Pisces. Take time to connect with your soul and listen to the guidance provided. The emotional depths of our subconscious will not be dismissed and it is important to trust that what comes up is what will be the foundation of your New Moon intentions for the next 6 months.
The emotional insight continues as Jupiter in Scorpio forms a grand water trine with the Cancer North Node and Chiron (Rx) in Pisces along side this New Moon. This harmonious aspect inspires us to move forward along our Cancer North Node path of emotional security and building a strong inner foundation by revisiting an old wound (Chiron Rx) and expanding our perspective on the issue (Jupiter). This is the last day of Jupiter in Scorpio before it moves into Sagittarius for the next 13 months (more on this below), so take advantage on gaining your soul’s perspective on the emotional ties to your wounds so that they may be healed as you travel along the Cancer North Node path.
To give a little fire to the emotional waters of this New Moon, Uranus (Rx) will re-enter Aries to finish what was started 7 years ago. This quick detour back into Aries (from Taurus) will last only until March 2019 when Uranus will finally find its way back into the sign of Taurus to stay until 2025. Think of this quick transit of Uranus in Aries as a final exam. Have you done the work in order to pass? Before we can move on to a new chapter, we must complete the previous one.
Uranus in Aries is all about impulsive actions that shake things up. Aries is a fire sign that knows how to use its passion and strong imagination to initiate change. Think back to the last seven years, what changes did you experience in your life? What sudden shifts occurred for you and how did you handle them? The changes Uranus brings are not minor or slow shifts but major upheavals and awakenings. Learning to find inner peace during these times is a life lesson many of us are learning. As Lady Gaga once said:
“Peace. It does not mean to be in a place where there is no noise, trouble or hard work. It means to be in the midst of those things and still be calm in your heart.”
On November 8th, Jupiter enters Sagittarius for a 13 month transit. Think of this transit as the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. During Jupiter in Scorpio, we were supported while doing the heavy inner work so that we could get ready for what is presented to us during Jupiter in Sagittarius, which is limitless! Jupiter is the natural ruler of Sagittarius so when Jupiter returns home after an 11 year orbit around the zodiac, a new 12 year cycle begins.
We will all benefit from the next 13 months, but those with Sun in Sagittarius and those with their natal Jupiter in Sagittarius will have just a little extra luck on their side. Pay attention to the house in your birth chart where Sagittarius resides. That area of your life will experience a prosperous boost in the form of a new expansive beginning. Take risks, be hopeful, and always remain open to receive!
With light and love,
November 2018 is all about shifting stories, shifting power, and shifting your karma. This month we will see major planetary events as Jupiter, Uranus, Mars, and the Lunar Nodes change signs. This means that you will see old stories come to an end and new ones begin.
This first week of November we will see our first major shift in the cosmos as the Lunar Nodes change signs from the Leo/Aquarius axis to the Cancer/Capricorn axis. On November 6th, the North Node (NN) will shift from Leo into Cancer and the South Node (SN) will shift from Aquarius into Capricorn. This Nodal Axis will continue until June of 2020. As a collective, we will ALL experience a shift in the karmic stories that show up in our lives.
Your karmic stories all have a past influence (SN) and future destination (NN). For most of your life, you are working to clear the SN karmic tendencies in order to reach your NN soul purpose.
The transition from Leo/Aquarius into Cancer/Capricorn brings the karmic focus of emotional security and our need to control. Fear is a major aspect of this karmic axis. It is the driving force behind the Capricorn SN and the need to control life in order to achieve emotionally security. But to be emotionally secure means to be at-home with your SELF. To embrace the vulnerability of being human and having emotions. To find comfort in the deep waters of your soul. So the focus of this new story will be on the NN in Cancer energy in order to help you release the fear of uncertainty and embrace the flow of life.
Depending upon where this Nodal Axis is represented in your birth chart, will determine the plot for this new story. For example, someone with a SN in Capricorn in their 10th house and NN in Cancer in their 4th house will see the story shift into one of balancing family life (home life) with their work life (public image). For these individuals, the next 18 months will focus on releasing their need to find security as a powerful authority figure and focus on nurturing their foundation or home life. When these two are balanced, abundance flows and emotional comfort can be achieved.
Those born between September 1981 and March 1983 (at the age of 37) will experience their (second) Nodal Return during this transit. This occurs as the transiting NN in Cancer passes over your natal NN in Cancer (and the transiting SN in Capricorn passes over your natal SN in Capricorn). What you experience during this time is meant to help you remember your life purpose. To make sure you are on the right path and open up the opportunities needed to get there.
In order to take full advantage of this transit, much depends on how aware you are of your life purpose (NN path). If you're not fully aware of what you need to move away from, and towards, these transits can pass you by. You may overlook your fated encounters and therefore miss out on the opportunities that are being given to you. BUT if you are consciously aware of your soul’s path, then you may fully embrace what opens up for you.

With love and light,
The month of October will be heavily focused on our relationships to people and possessions. That is because Venus the planet of love, relationships, money, and personal values will go retrograde through the signs of Scorpio and Libra.
Venus Retrograde 10/5/18 to 11/15/18: Venus goes retrograde approximately every 18 months and will last for about 40 days. The purpose of this transit is to review and reconnect with what we love and value.
Every eight years, Venus returns to the same area in your birth chart asking you to reevaluate certain aspects in your life. This retrograde cycle correlates back to that which occurred in October/November of 2010. Think back to that time, does anything stand out? Are your life situations (both internal and external) the same or have things changed?
This 2018 Venus retrograde cycle begins at 10° Scorpio (death, rebirth, and transformation) and ends at 25° Libra (passion, beauty, and relationships). Profound transformation of our relationships, values, and finances are key themes during most of October and November.
Look to your birth chart (click here to get a free birth chart) and find where these degrees are represented in your chart. Take note of the houses and planets affected by this transit. These will provide keys to the transformation that will occur.
Venus will be intersecting three major transpersonal (outer) planets, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto, along its retrograde path. This will be felt by MANY as those within the age range of 30-65 have one of these planets in 25° Libra to 10° Scorpio.
For those of you age 30 to 37, Venus will cross Pluto along its path. This means you will have Venus retrograde conjunct Pluto. During this transit, you will seek unusual and intense love experiences. You desire deep love and will stop at nothing to get it. Because of this, there is a strong tendency for past karmic patterns to arise in your current relationships or in the connections you make with others. Use this transit to bring an awareness to your desire for love and how your manage your power within relationships. Depending upon which house(s) this transit falls within your birth chart, you may also experience this transit in relation to money and material possessions.
For those of you age 41-45, Venus will cross Uranus along its path. This means you will have Venus retrograde conjunct Uranus. During this transit, you will seek excitement and new experiences through love and creativity. Something is going to change in your life and it will be unexpected. It may be a change of heart in a current relationship or a change in how you make or spend money. Tapping into your heart and creativity is heightened during this time. Take advantage of this. Whatever happens, know that this change is meant to help you along your path.
For those of you age 56-65, Venus will cross Neptune along its path. This means you will have Venus retrograde conjunct Neptune. During this transit, you may discover the spiritual side of love. People you meet or relationships that you are currently in will be felt on the soul level. You may see beauty and relationships in a different light. If you are a creative or artist, you may be inspired by your surroundings. Selfless love will be emphasized, but so may be unrealistic expectations. Use this transit to get soulful about what and who you connect with.
For those of you outside of these age ranges, you don’t have a transpersonal planet (Uranus, Neptune, Pluto) on the Venus retrograde path. However, you may have other personal planets (Moon, Sun, Mercury, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn), your ascendant (rising sign) or a lunar node in Libra or Scorpio. Look to your birth chart and check whether you have any planet(s) in 25-29 degrees of Libra or 0-10 degrees of Scorpio.
Use my free astrology quick guides to get an idea of how this retrograde transit may play out based on the themes for each planet and house found in your chart.

The Wheel of Life and the 12 Houses
The wheel of the zodiac is a cycle of experience. The 12 houses of the wheel represent different areas of your life as represented in your birth chart.
The zodiac wheel starts with your Ascendant (Rising) as the sign that was on the Eastern Horizon of your birth and creates the cusp of your 1st House. This is the base from which the remaining houses derive significance in your life. This house, along with the sign on the cusp (Rising sign), infuses you with the energy to cope with situations you face as you fulfill your purpose. Your Rising sign represents how you dawn on people.
1st House: The house of self. This includes self-awareness, the physical body, personality, appearance, personal views on life, self-identity, self-image, early environment, and beginnings; how we initiate, how we're impulsive. Any planets in this house will greatly influence your personality and how others perceive you.
2nd House: Refers to your own money and possessions, what you value, your hidden talents, sense of self-worth, self-esteem (how you value yourself, instead of describing your personality as in the 1st house). Possessions include anything a person owns or finds value in. The 2nd house specifies how you gain and spend your own money (as opposed to other's money in the 8th house), your attitude towards wealth and material possessions, and your potential for accumulating it/them. This is also the house of nourishing your physical body through food, connection to nature, and plant medicines.
3rd House: The house of communication, which by extension includes one's immediate environment: siblings, neighbors, short journeys, and all forms of transportation. The 3rd house also includes the intellect, the lower mind (details and small bits of information as opposed to the higher mind in 9th house), thinking patterns, and early education (before college). Communication includes messages, deliveries, phone calls, visits, reading and writing.
4th House: This house refers to the home and everything associated with it (both the childhood home & the current home): family, land, personal foundations (inner emotional security), your roots. It is a strong indicator of your parental influence in life, especially your mother. Any planets in the 4th house affect your home life, your emotions, your subconscious, and possibly your relationship with your parents.
5th House: This house refers to children, creativity, and the pursuit of pleasure. This includes personal interests, love affairs, sports, hobbies, risk-taking, creative self-expression, love given, etc. The 5th house is all about you being yourself and enjoying it.
6th House: This house refers to daily work, service, diet, health and physical illness, physical ability to work, employees. This includes volunteer labor, civil service work, caretaking, and mundane daily tasks. The 6th house really involves the quality of your work, the quality of the jobs you perform, as opposed to an actual career (career is represented by the 10th house). Daily mundane tasks include personal hygiene and our method of responding to everyday crises.
7th House: The seventh house is sometimes referred to as the house of marriage, but it encompasses all one-to-one relationships: marriage, business partnerships, contracts, and cooperative relationships. The 7th house includes the way you balance yourself with others. Planets in this house will influence your manner of relating. They also give clues to issues that arise in your relationships.
8th House: This house governs death, regeneration, taxes, inheritances, wills & legacies, sex (the actual act of sex), joint resources, your partner’s money and possessions, spouse's money, bankruptcy, losses, personal sacrifices, alimony, clairvoyance.
This house is a major player in transformation and healing. But transformation and healing require some type of “death” or loss. This house rules those processes and things by which we transform and become healed and more powerful in our truth.
9th House: This house refers to philosophy, religion, law, learning, higher education (as opposed to early education by the 3rd House), ethics, morals, long journeys, travel, foreign countries and interests, spiritual urges, visions, higher mind, ideas, understanding and wisdom, books, publishing, ceremonies, and rituals. This is the house of big thoughts and big ideas.
The 9th house includes experiences that we encounter when we search for the meaning of things. Whatever expands your field of activity or the scope of your mind – long journeys, contact with other cultures, great visions, and even esoteric experiences.
10th House: This house is the house of status, honor, community power, prestige, reputation, and professional career. In our society, this includes financial success, but only as it relates to community power and prestige. It's not about gaining "material stuff" as it is in the 2nd house. The 10th house wants success for the sake of honor and social status.
This house includes social foundations (as opposed to personal home foundations in the 4th), recognition, personal achievements, social responsibilities, sense of duty, authority figures, politicians. This house encompasses the most public areas of one's life, and the career that you grow into, as opposed to daily work and odd jobs ruled by the 6th House.
As with the other angular houses, any planets in this house are very important. Planets in the 10th house, the sign on the cusp of the 10th house, and its ruling planet will greatly influence your career and your general reputation in public.
11th House: This house is the house of community, large groups, and friends. It refers to memberships, hopes, goals, ambitions, wishes, social groups, associations, humanitarian interests. It also refers to self-realization, liberty, legislation and regulation.
12th House: This house refers to the subconscious, the hidden self that exists apart from our physical everyday reality. This includes the unconscious mind, subconscious memory, subconscious habit patterns from the past, mental illness, karmic debts, self-deception, escapism, spiritual realization, limitations, frustration, and ultimately our self-undoing.
The 12th house also refers to the collective unconscious of all humanity.

Ah, September. The air begins to cool and Mother Nature gradually displays her array of colors to celebrate the transition into the Fall season. The season of Libra, Scorpio, and Sagittarius. The season of finding balance within in order to transform and prepare for the darkness of Winter.
The energy of September will be a welcome change from the last few months as more planets are waking up from their slumber of retrograde. This month we have Saturn and Pluto stationing direct in the sign of Capricorn. Look to your birth chart to locate the house that contains Capricorn to show you what area of your life will start to see more responsibility (Saturn) and powerful transformation (Pluto).
The energy of Venus will be strong this month as it enters the sign of Scorpio and prepares for it’s retrograde starting in the beginning of October. Venus in Scorpio will bring a desire to dig deep into what you value. You will wish to align yourself with things and people that bring you a love that exceeds the superficial, with a hint of taboo.
On the same day as Venus enters Scorpio, we will have a New Moon in the sign of Virgo. This New Moon will be a jumpstart for your well-being. It will have you redesigning your daily routines with a focus on your physical health. The overindulgences of the Summer are calling to be detoxed from the body in order to enter the Fall season with a clear mind, body, and spirit.
The transition into the Fall season begins during the Fall Equinox on September 22nd. This is when the Sun enters Libra and the hours of light are equal to dark. There is a balance in nature which is calling for a balance within ourselves. It marks the beginning of much healing that is to be done in the next three months so that we are ready for the transition into darkness (Winter). What is out of balance in your life? Find that and transform it so that come Winter you have everything you need to thrive.
After we reach the turning point of the Fall Equinox, we are greeted with a Full Moon in Aries. This Full Moon brings an initiating energy with it. An energy that allows us to see what changes we need to make in order to heal and grow. Open your eyes to what you seek from yourself and others. Is it balanced or do you rely heavily on others and not enough on your own strength?
As you can see, September is all about making small changes that will ultimately result in major transformations. If you do the work. Astrology only brings awareness to the energy around you, it is your free will that decides how you are going to use it. Enjoy your PSL’s (Pumpkin Spice Lattes), but do so in moderation and along with physical activity. Get outside and take in the crisp air of change.
Major Astrological Dates in September:

New Moon in Virgo on 9/9
Mars enters Aquarius on 11/10
