When you look up the word abundance in the dictionary you will see the following definition: a very large quantity of something. Many people associate abundance with wealth or material possessions, such as having a home filled with nice things, having money to purchase things we desire, etc. Some others would say abundance means having a large amount of love and joy in their life. Ultimately, defining abundance varies from individual to individual.
According to one of my favorite authors and speakers, Dr. Wayne Dyer, "Abundance is not something we acquire. It is something we tune into." Why I love this definition of abundance is that it helps us to change our perspective on various aspects of life. As I like to say, change the way you look at things, and the things you look at change.
When we begin to tune into our feelings and connect them to the thought of abundance, we end up creating more abundance in our lives. For example, when you come home from a long day of work and you are greeted by a wagging tail, a tiny hug, or even a high five from a friend, you experience a feeling of joy that creates a positive thought pattern. So then following day(s) you start to feel positive emotions as you approach your home in anticipation for that joyful greeting. You are now tuned in to abundance!
The experience of abundance continues to grow when you are wired for positive thinking. As many experts in the field of psychology say, “your thoughts become your reality.” So, the more you can tune into the experience of abundance, the more your mind and body begin to change and open to more abundance, love, joy, etc.
To create the practice of tuning into abundance, try integrating these three easy steps into your daily life:
1. See your life, the world as abundant and giving. Remember, change the way you look at things, and the things you look at change.
2. Create your own affirmations to repeat as often as needed. For example, I attract success and abundance into my life because I am deserving.
3. Practice mindfulness and being in the present moment. Being mindful of those moments that bring you bliss. That way you can tune into abundance and create that wiring of positive thinking.
Create a practice that works for you and begin to tune in to what you are deserving of...everything!
