Looking to start 2018 off with a healthy boost to your daily routine? Here are a few of my favorite things to get you started:
1. Equator Coffee and Teas
Some might me call me a coffee snob, but I like to think of myself as a coffee enthusiast. I only have one cup of coffee a day so why not make it the best damn cup you have ever had. And Equator is just that! I first discovered Equator Coffee through my awesome coffee subscription service Mistobox. If it wasn't for my monthly box of morning deliciousness, I would never have discovered that coffee could taste so good! This isn't your typical cup of joe, this is a flavor experience. And did I mention it supports small local roasters?! Yep, you should check it out. You can request Equator as your first delivery too!
2. Vital Roots Collagen Peptides
To go along with my morning routine, I always put a scoop of Vital Roots Collagen Peptides in my awesome cup of coffee for an added healthy boost. It easily dissolves and does not alter the taste. Why collagen? The typical American diet is not rich in collagen and thus the need for supplementation is warranted. Collagen is a crucial ingredient in bone and skin health that naturally decreases with age. Studies have found that supplementation of collagen peptides can increase bone mineral density and help improve skin elasticity. Give it a try! And do your own research. The evidence is out there.
3. Four Sigmatic Mushroom Matcha Drink Mix
We all know the health benefits of green tea but this amazing concoction also includes the brain boosting, anti-inflammatory, and immune stimulating lion's main (the mushroom not the animal) with a hint of ginger. This is the perfect afternoon pick me up! Add a splash of whatever milk you choose and call it a day.
4. Gaia Golden Milk
After a long day there is nothing better than putting on some comfy clothes and having a warm glass of golden milk. It is the most relaxing part of my day. Golden milk is a combination of turmeric, dates, and herbs that is not only nourishing to your body but also tasty! You can make golden milk at home but what I love most about Gaia's Golden Milk is the addition of Ashwagandha, an ancient Ayurvedic herb known to calm the nervous system and aid in restful sleep. Take it from somebody who has struggled with sleeping, this stuff is amazing!
As you start to set your healthy intentions for 2018 try adding a few new things in the mix to create your perfect daily health routine.
With love and light,
Saturn enters Capricorn today, December 19th, to stay for the next two-and-a-half to three years. Saturn is the planet of responsibility, self-discipline, patience, and hard work. The basic personality function of Saturn is to test us until we learn our purpose in life.
Now, Saturn gets a bad reputation of being the cruel taskmaster. Yes, can Saturn throw us some tough life lessons, but those lessons are critical for our soul growth and the growth of society. Jupiter gives us the urge to run out and explore all areas in life, to expand our knowledge and experiences. Saturn then comes along and says, "Yes, expand and explore, but within your means and with boundaries to protect yourself." For example, I may have the urge to pursue my dreams and open up my own business. I start running with this and then Saturn comes in and says, "Did you research proper tax laws, save up capital, or create a business strategy?"
Think of Saturn as the wise old man (often associated with a father figure) who is your guide and mentor through life, imparting sage advice. The goal of Saturn is slow and steady growth. You must learn the value of working hard so you may appreciate success when it comes your way. And it will!
Saturn is leaving Sagittarius and entering Capricorn to stay until December 20, 2020. Look to your birth chart to see what area of your life will experience the energy of Saturn. This will be an area of critical life lessons and growth for the next three years. So learn to embrace the limitations, the lessons, and the powerful success that Saturn will bring.

With light and love,
When you look up the word abundance in the dictionary you will see the following definition: a very large quantity of something. Many people associate abundance with wealth or material possessions, such as having a home filled with nice things, having money to purchase things we desire, etc. Some others would say abundance means having a large amount of love and joy in their life. Ultimately, defining abundance varies from individual to individual.
According to one of my favorite authors and speakers, Dr. Wayne Dyer, "Abundance is not something we acquire. It is something we tune into." Why I love this definition of abundance is that it helps us to change our perspective on various aspects of life. As I like to say, change the way you look at things, and the things you look at change.
When we begin to tune into our feelings and connect them to the thought of abundance, we end up creating more abundance in our lives. For example, when you come home from a long day of work and you are greeted by a wagging tail, a tiny hug, or even a high five from a friend, you experience a feeling of joy that creates a positive thought pattern. So then following day(s) you start to feel positive emotions as you approach your home in anticipation for that joyful greeting. You are now tuned in to abundance!
The experience of abundance continues to grow when you are wired for positive thinking. As many experts in the field of psychology say, “your thoughts become your reality.” So, the more you can tune into the experience of abundance, the more your mind and body begin to change and open to more abundance, love, joy, etc.
To create the practice of tuning into abundance, try integrating these three easy steps into your daily life:
1. See your life, the world as abundant and giving. Remember, change the way you look at things, and the things you look at change.
2. Create your own affirmations to repeat as often as needed. For example, I attract success and abundance into my life because I am deserving.
3. Practice mindfulness and being in the present moment. Being mindful of those moments that bring you bliss. That way you can tune into abundance and create that wiring of positive thinking.
Create a practice that works for you and begin to tune in to what you are deserving of...everything!
Love and light,
Happy last full moon of 2017 everyone! This full moon occurs at 11 degrees of Gemini AND also happens to coincide with the planet Mercury starting its retrograde cycle (December 3-December 22). So, what does this mean? It is time to REFLECT AND RELEASE!
Full moons are a time to release what is no longer serving you so you may prepare for the upcoming new moon cycle which is a time for manifestation. Just as the moon influences the tides, it also influences the flow of our emotions. Things come to the surface that may be buried deep down. So you start to feel the pain, the anxiety, etc. that you have been pushing aside or refusing to acknowledge. At this time you are being called to release so that you may open that space to love, joy, and abundance. That is why so many people say the full moon makes them "crazy" or very emotional.
This specific full moon is happening at 11 degrees of Gemini. The Gemini archetype is one of mental exploration and communication. I THINK, THEREFORE I AM would be their slogan. When a full moon happens within a certain sign, those archetypical influences can be expressed or come into focus for every person (how depends on the area represented by Gemini in your birth chart). Overall, many of us will be experiencing thoughts or patterns of thinking that keep us from moving forward in life. Some may cause anxiety as the mind is a very powerful influence on our nervous system or some may be experiencing some depression or moodiness. What ever arises, this full moon is asking you to release it.
In addition to the full moon, Mercury the planet that rules Gemini (and Virgo) is also turning retrograde until December 22nd. Many people fear when this happens, as technology can go a little crazy during these weeks. To learn more about that, check out Susan Miller's explanation on Mercury retrograde. I have learned to love Mercury retrograde as it is one of the best times to reflect and go inward. To discover your truth and redefine your values. This is a perfect time for healing and upgrading our thinking. To create an outlook that is aligned with your true self. What a great way to close out 2017 and open up to the new year!
How to make the most of this full moon and mercury retrograde? Practice patience with yourself and go inward. Journal your thoughts, emotion, dreams, etc. Ask yourself the tough question. Find out what is causing you that anxiety or persistent negative thought patterns. AND then release them. Really take the time for you and slow down a little. Meditate, practice yoga, go for more walks, read, or find whatever makes you feel at peace. Notice when your thoughts begin to go negative and say to yourself "I want to feel good" (this comes from one of my favorite authors Dr. Wayne Dyer and "The Power of Intention").
Be sure to include these elements to help you along this process:
Happy Full Moon and Releasing!
With Love and Light,
